LOCATION - NADI & the 'WEST'
Situated in the North-West of Viti Levu, Nadi pronounced 'Nandee' is where Fiji's main international gateway is located. Although there is also an international airport at Nausori (Suva) on the other side of Viti Levu, Nadi International Airport is the main point of entry for the majority of visitors to Fiji Islands. Nadi is therefore a thriving tourist centre for travellers, both for those who holiday in this area, or for those passing through on their way to the outer island resorts.
'THE WEST'
This region (Nadi and surrounding region in the west and north of Viti Levu) is generally known as 'the West'. The region starts from around Sigatoka on the Coral Coast (west), and extends through Nadi and on to the important regional towns of Lautoka, Ba and Raki Raki.
DOMESTIC TRANSPORT
Nadi has excellent transport options - hire cars, buses, taxis, domestic air transport (aircraft, helicopter and seaplanes), and boat transfers, allowing quick and easy access to other parts of Fiji.
WHAT THE REGION OFFERS THE INVESTOR
From an investor's viewpoint, Nadi is an important commercial centre, and also a convenient residential base also. Residents have the convenience of mainland shops, restaurants, banks, airport and medical facilities, while being within easy reach of the beautiful white sand beaches of the offshore island groups known as the Mamanucas and Yasawas. Convenient domestic airlines may be used to access more distant island regions (Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Kadavu, Ovalau, Koro etc) - none more than about 1 - 1½ hrs flight away.
